Job Description: 

  • Bilingual English/Spanish required
  • High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2-3 years of general HR experience which includes Recruitment, Employee Relations, and HRIS
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, and be sensitive to situations where information must be shared on a ‘need to know’ basis
  • Working knowledge of related federal and state employment laws/regulations including ADA, FMLA, FLSA, etc.
  • Experience working on projects related to HRIS or other HR systems including implementations, upgrades, and/or enhancements
  • Excellent communication, planning, inter-personal, time-management, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously
  • Flexibility when faced with changing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Ability to respond to disgruntled employees in a calming manner
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work outside of the core business hours when necessary
  • Open to periodic travel if necessary

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acts as a first point of contact for line managers and provides support in regards to employee relations issues, inquiries and complaints
  • Partners with management on employee relations and conducts internal investigations as assigned by HR management
  • Provides coaching on employee relations issues by assisting managers with the implementation of progressive discipline and performance management plans
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state and local employment laws which will require an on-going commitment to continuing education and familiarity with changes in labor laws and regulations
  • Maintains quality and consistency of HRIS database information and compiles reports from database when needed
  • Trains end users on HRIS
  • Responsible for FMLA and leaves-of-absence administration
  • Reviews, assesses, and makes recommendations for all requests for accommodations (ADA, Religious, and others applicable by law) to ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations
  • Serves as a resource for questions from management and employees concerning various HR policies and procedures
  • Assists with recruiting responsibilities such as prescreening resumes, conducting background and reference checks, and conducting new hire orientation
  • Assists Payroll team when necessary in duties such as processing timesheets, checking changes reports and distribution of checks
  • All other duties as assigned.
